-
- As some old versions of shareware programs tend to hang around RBBS's and
- User Groups for some time, the program and price quoted are subject to change.
- DataMicro, Inc. reserves the right to make improvements and price changes
- without notice.
-
- Free distribution does not mean a program can be used forever without payment.
- If you like it and you use it, you must pay the Author for it.
-
- The 'Prophet Cards' produced by this (shareware) program were designed for
- commercial use (to sell). They are not to be distributed except by registered
- owners.
-
- This is a fully functional version of LOTTO PROPHET, and nothing has been
- removed that would deprive you of a complete evaluation of the program.

- CHAPTER I
-
-
- HOW LOTTERIES OPERATE:
-
- Now for some information about how lotteries work and especially
- the lotto type games where you select the numbers you wish to
- play.
-
- The DAILY PICK 3 is basically copied from the old illegal numbers
- game which was played in all the large northern cities in years
- past. You would select three numbers from 1 to 999, pay your 25
- cents, or whatever, and if your numbers matched the last three
- numbers of the stock market's ending daily investment amount or
- some other number that could not be manipulated, you would win
- about $100.00 depending on the odds. The numbers had to match
- exactly in order. (Example: a selection of 639 meant that 639
- had to come up in that order to win).
-
- To cover the three numbers so they would win if they came up in
- any order 396, 963, etc., the player could "box the numbers."
- Instead of the bet costing 25 cents the same three numbers would
- cost $1.50 and the numbers would win if they came up in any of
- the 6 different ways that they could appear.
-
- The new legal state lotteries do tend to work the same way with
- some small differences. With the new legal state lotteries, you
- select 5, 6, or 7 numbers (depending on the rules of your
- lottery) from 1 to say 40 or 49 etc. The state or other lottery
- commission also selects the same amount of numbers from
- within that range. If your numbers each match their numbers,
- 'YOU WIN' the Jackpot or at least share in the Jackpot.
- You would also win a limited amount of money if you picked 5
- out of 6, or even 4 out of 6, etc.
-
- The lotteries are all different in that one state may select 6 numbers
- from 1 to 36 and another may select 5 numbers from 1 to 40, etc.
-
- The best way to select numbers for lotto is by avoiding the use of
- birthdays, or a lot of small numbers. These types of number
- selections are common and increase the likelihood of having to
- divide the 'Jackpot' when you win. Using numbers randomly selected
- by computer is the best way to avoid outside interference that
- may effect number selections.
-
- The 'stats' section of LOTTO PROPHET can help in your number
- selection, since numbers do tend to repeat, to go on hot streaks,
- and to come up often with certain other numbers. It is better to
- select numbers that are going to win, than to play numbers
- because others are not selecting those numbers.
-
- The best way to win the lotteries is by using both good number
- selection by computer randomization, plus pattern checking by
- statistical research. Having Lady Luck on your side helps too!

-
- SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
-
- LOTTO PROPHET was developed for the IBM Personal Computer and
- operates properly on most compatible computers. The system
- requirements are very simple:
-
- 1. MS-DOS or PC-DOS, Version 2.1 or later.
- 2. At least one 720K floppy disk drive.
- 3. A printer, for producing the reports and Prophet Cards is
- recommended.
- 4. The program will operate much faster from a hard disk.
-
- OVERVIEW
-
- DataMicro's LOTTO PROPHET is a sincere attempt to increase
- the interest and the pleasure of individuals and groups who like to
- play the lottery by helping keep a record of numbers picked as
- well as recording the previously called lottery numbers.
-
- The LOTTO PROPHET has the ability to maintain all of the
- State, Canadian 6/49 and Australian lotteries at one time.
-
- TECHNICAL SUPPORT: DataMicro will provide 3 months of support
- with the purchase of LOTTO PROPHET. The best and fastest way to
- get technical assistance is by telephone. (941)629-7720 voice and
- (941)625-2285 fax). Tech Support hours are as follows:
- 9am - 5:30pm Est, Monday thru Friday. Tech Support questions
- which are faxed will be answered and mailed to you.
- Please make sure you have your name and address on the fax.
-
- PLEASE, WHEN YOU CALL BE AT YOUR COMPUTER AND HAVE "THE PROPHET"
- RUNNING. THANK YOU !!
-
- GOOD ADVICE: This program is completely menu driven and is very
- easy to follow; however, the documentation is not that easy to
- comprehend by just reading it. My advice is to read over the
- manual once to discover what the program can do then use the
- manual only as needed to learn one section at a time.

-
- FILES-
-
- Before we start into the operation lets talk a little about the files
- involved with LOTTO PROPHET.
-
- In past versions of this program most of the technical support
- questions I received were about files, file ID's, numbers, names
- etc..and in particular PROPHET, NUMBER, WHEEL and PRESET files.
- Also there seems to be quite a number of questions regarding the
- *.* and the .* (Wild Cards). Let's take some time to review the
- basics of DOS.
-
- A file's name consists of 2 parts - the FILENAME followed by a "."
- (period) and then the EXTENSION. A file has a first name and a last name,
- just like people. Some files have no last name. The file's first name can
- be 8 characters or less. The file's last name or "EXTENSION" can be 3
- characters or less.
-
- *.* - The first * refers to all or part of the file's first name.
- The "." (period) is the separator for the file's first and last name.
- The last * refers to the file's last name or the EXTENSION.
-
- PROPHET, NUMBER, WHEEL and PRESET are names that we assign to certain
- files as the file's first name or part of the file's first name.
-
- PROPHET.* files hold the dates and the numbers of the past drawings
- for a particular lottery (Example: PROPHET.21 is New York 6/54).
- PROPHET files with extensions of 70 and above are reserved for KENO
- Lotteries. PROPHET.32 is reserved for Powerball.
-
- What does PROPHET.* mean? PROPHET means that we are referring to a file
- which contains the past drawings. The "." (period) separates the filename
- from the extension. The "*" indicates that we are requesting the file's last
- name or extension from you. For example, for PROPHET.21 (New York Lotto) you
- would enter 21. 21 would be the file's extension or the ".*"
-
-
- PRESET.* files are created in the SUPER STATISTICAL REPORTS Section.
- The PRESET files contain the best picks for each individual report.
- (Example: a PRESET.S* would hold the numbers that appeared the most
- often with other numbers in that order).
-
- A PRESET.X* file could be created in the UTILITIES section
- containing 18 of your favorite numbers. Once again, PRESET
- is the file's first name. The ".*" refers to the extension.
-
- (C) Copyright 1987 - 1995 by DataMicro, Inc. Page 7
- All Rights Reserved Worldwide.
-
- For example, PRESET.S21 - "PRESET " is the file's first name. The "."
- (period) separates the filename from the extension. The "S" stands for
- Numbers Appearing With Other Numbers (refer to the Super Statistical
- Reports Section), and the "21" stands for the New York Lotto (Prophet.21).
- Figure out this simple code and you've aced the whole program.
-
- NUMBER*.* files contain sets of games for the purpose of betting on the
- lottery. NUMBER files are created in the Keys Section, and you can
- build your own NUMBER file in the Utility Section.
-
- Did you notice that the NUMBER file had a *.* after it? Let's use an
- example to understand NUMBER files.
-
- NUMBER21.BOB - "NUMBER" is part of the file's first name which we gave
- to the file. "21" stands for PROPHET.21 (New York Lotto) the "." separates
- the file's first name from the extension and "BOB" is the extension. Why BOB?
- The extension is whatever YOU give it. You can call it BOB or HOT or ABC.
- It should be something that you will remember.
-
- POP Quiz !!!!! What would the above NUMBER file be called if you were
- using Florida Lotto, (Prophet.28) ? answer: NUMBER28.BOB
- Get It? Answer: NUMBER28.BOB
-
- NUMBER*.* - The first star indicates that "NUMBER" is not the complete first
- name, there is more to it. The period separates the file's name from the
- extension and the last * is referring to the extension.
-
- To make it as easy as we can, we will try to put notes throughout the
- manual and give a lot of examples. Most of the notes are preceded with
- "**'s".
-
- LOTTO PROPHET has the ability to house the PROPHET, NUMBERS and
- PRESET files for 80 lotteries all at the same time. To assist you in
- keeping track of these files, you can get a instant file directory listing,
- at almost any prompt that requests you input a file ID, just by entering
- 'DIR' <enter>.
-
-
- NOTE:
- We will try to use the term GAME or GAMES throughout this
- documentation to describe the minimum amount of numbers that it
- takes to buy 1 lottery ticket. (Example: IN MOST STATES YOU WOULD
- PICK 6 NUMBERS (1 GAME) TO PLACE ONE BET).

- Basically LOTTO PROPHET is in 8 modules:
-
- 1. The File Control Section controls:
- a. The lottery history files by allowing updating, editing, reviewing
- and printing all the past 100 numbers.
- b. The creation of new lottery files.
- c. The deletion of unwanted files.
-
-
- 2. The Statistical Section produces reports based upon numbers such as:
- a. The numbers that have appeared the most during all the lottery
- drawings, or for any specific number of weeks or drawings. (Hot
- numbers)
- b. Numbers appearing with other numbers tells you how many times any 1
- number appeared with another number and how many times any individual
- number has appeared.
- c. The numbers that have appeared the most in any specific month.
- d. Power/Due numbers that have appeared an above average amount of times
- but have not appeared recently.
- e. The numbers that are historically the most likely to follow the numbers
- selected in the last drawing.
-
- 3. The Holdum/Checkum Section controls the actual playing of lotteries by
- storing selected numbers & checking them against the winning number.
-
-
- (C) Copyright 1987 - 1995 by DataMicro, Inc. Page 9
- All Rights Reserved Worldwide.
-
- 4. The Prognosticator selects the lottery numbers for you using the
- randomizer that can be seeded using an extract from your name.
- The numbers selected can be restricted to the 18 highest rated
- numbers in any of the 7 PRESET files created in the Super Statistical
- Section.
-
- 5. CFG configures the Prognosticator - allows for random opinions
- and messages, lets you limit the amount of Preset numbers to use.
-
- 6. KEYS is an advanced, scientific wheeling system.
-
- 7. STATE OF THE LOTTERY- An in-depth report & analysis on current winning
- numbers. It searches the history of the lottery you select and prints
- reports showing how many times 3 or 4 numbers have appeared together.
- Prints Repeat Numbers and Skip/Hit Chart.
-
- 8. UTILITY will build a NUMBER or PRESET file, merge NUMBER files,
- color and password control, test the program's randomizer and set
- the system mouse speed. MOST IMPORTANTLY: the Utility Section will
- allow you to switch between lotteries.

- CHAPTER II
-
-
- GETTING STARTED
-
- 1. Immediately make a backup copy of the original program disk
- and put the original in a safe place. Place a write protect
- tab on the original program disk. THE IMPORTANCE OF THIS
- STEP CANNOT BE STRESSED ENOUGH ! !
-
- 2. To make a copy of the master disk, place it in the A: drive,
- place a new, formatted disk in the B: drive. At the DOS prompt
- type in COPY A:*.* B:. This will copy all the files on your
- master disk in drive A: to your disk on drive B:
-
- 3. To place LOTTO PROPHET on your hard disk, type INSTALL
- <enter>. This command will create a directory on your hard disk
- called PROPHET. It will copy the Lotto Prophet files to the
- directory and extract the wheels.
-
- To print the manual, type MANUAL5 -P <enter>
- Then to run LOTTO PROPHET, type P5 at the PROPHET directory.
-
- 4. LOTTO PROPHET was designed to be run on a hard or fixed disk
- because of the many program overlays and disk I/Os. If you
- do not have a hard disk try using a RAM disk if you have
- enough memory.
-
- The program is completely menu driven and was designed to be run
- with only an occasional reference to the documentation.

- The Prophet is 'SET' for the FLORIDA 6/49 MOUSE SPEED = 0
-
-
- When you first receive Lotto Prophet, the color will be turned off. To
- turn the color on, go to the Utility Section and select TURN COLOR ON.
-
- The most commonly asked question for new users is "Where do I start first?"
- This is the route I recommend.....
-
- First go to the File Control Section and select CREATE, CHANGE OR DELETE a
- Lottery. Refer to the File Control Section of this manual on how to create
- your lottery.
-
- Next, begin adding past data using the first selection in File Control
- (at least 15 past drawings). Then print out the history of your lottery.
-
- Then go to the Super Statistical Reports and run all of the reports.
- Next go to the CFG Menu and customize the Prognosticator, if you wish.
- Then you can go to the Prognosticator and have it give you picks based on
- the results of the Super Stats.
-
- I would then run the State of the Lottery reports. Compare them to the
- history of the lottery. Many of our customers tell us of interesting
- patterns they find.
-
- Next use Holdum/Checkum and store some games. After you've had a chance
- to get to know the program, I would then advance to the KEYS Section
- to study the wheeling systems.

- Mean and Median Averages - One of the most commonly asked question is "What
- is a Median Average?" Median refers to the "middle". The calculation of
- a Median average is based on the middle, unlike the more commonly used Mean
- Average.
-
- The SUM is calculated by adding up all of the numbers drawn. In Record
- number 10 (above) the numbers 01 09 20 30 31 47 were drawn.
- 01 + 09 + 20 + 30 + 31 + 47 = 138
-
- Lotto Prophet provides the numbers that have repeated from the previous
- drawing. To obtain a summary report of Repeat Numbers, please run the
- REPEAT NUMBERS report from the State of the Lottery Menu.

- CREATE, CHANGE OR DELETE A PROPHET FILE -
-
- If you are creating a new file, the number must be 1 to 79.
-
- *** Reserved Numbers: Please note that
- 32 is reserved for Powerball (PROPHET.32)
- 70 is reserved for Penn Super 7 (PROPHET.70)
- and 71 - 80 are reserved for KENO ONLY lotteries
- All other numbers from 1 to 69 may be used to create Pick 5 and Pick 6
- lotteries.
-

- ** COMMON PROBLEM: YOU CANNOT CREATE PICK 3 OR PICK 4 IN THIS SECTION.
-
- SELECT THE NUMBER OF THE FILE TO CREATE, CHANGE OR DELETE.
-
- ** If you are creating a new lottery, enter a number that is not currently
- assigned (make sure you follow the "Reserved Numbers" rules).
-
- Many people who have called in the past are afraid to pick a number for
- their PROPHET file. You do not have to use the same numbers we use on page
- 12 of the manual. It just makes it easier for us to help you. Just make
- sure you follow the Reserved Numbers rules.
-
- Say you wanted to create PROPHET.28. Just key in the number 28 and hit

-
- You can back up the PROPHET files in the Utility Section.
-
- We hope you use the following feature wisely. If you do not make backups,
- our tech support staff may not be able to assist you. Most new computer
- users are delete happy and fear that their hard drive will run out of
- space. The PROPHET files are generally small in size. They do not take up
- a lot of disk space. If you can help it, try to avoid deleting.

- FRIENDS -or- CHARTING THE NUMBERS THAT ARE DRAWN TOGETHER
- 95 Drawings of ILLINOIS 6/54 TO GO -> 54 - 54
-
- LEFT RIGHT UP DOWN Q>UIT
-
-
- The program displays a chart showing how many times each number has
- appeared with other numbers. It begins with the number one and continues
- to the highest number drawn in that particular lottery. You may scroll
- the chart using the arrow keys. To QUIT hit 'Q'.
-
- If you want to know how many times the number 9 has appeared with the number
- 8, just move your finger from the number 9 on the left until it meets
- with the number 8 on the top. Based on the above report the number 9 has
- appeared with the number 8 Two (2) times.
-
- If you match the number 17 from the left to the number 17 from the top, you
- will see how many times the number 17 has appeared.
-
- To move around the chart, just use your LEFT, RIGHT, UP & DOWN arrow keys.
-
- Due to the enormous amount of page space this report takes, it will not
- print properly on most printers, especially if you play Keno (1 to 80).
- The only feasible way to print this report is to simply hit the
- PRINT SCREEN key, then tape the report together. We know this is tedious,
- but if you have any ideas of a way it will work for everyone, please let us
- know.
-
- This report will automatically produce a Preset.S* file.

- The above report shows that it is based on 41 drawings. That is because

-
- It also shows a percent of frequency as well as how many drawings since the
- number had been drawn.
-
- The ending digits summary is used by many of our customers in their

- The numbers across the top and bottom of the report signify 1 to the
- highest number drawn. To the left are the drawing dates. Notice that the
- dates are all in November. That is because in our example we used the
- Illinois Lotto (Prophet.12) for the month of November. The H's stand for
- Hits. Once again, we are looking for a pattern. If your lottery draws a
- bonus number, then a B would appear on the chart where the bonus number
- was drawn.

- 5. MOST LIKELY TO FOLLOW LAST RECORDED DRAWING
-
- This report does a in-depth evaluation of the numbers that have
- appeared in the last drawing testing them in all of the previous draw-
- ings to see which numbers have historically followed them. These number
- totals are then divided by the total amount of times the number has
- appeared. A third, not disclosed evaluation, is then used to assign a
- rating to the numbers.
-
- This is a slow report to generate. A typical file of say, 75 drawings would
- require in excess of 1,000,000 computer evaluations to produce it.

-
- HOW CAN WE USE THIS INFORMATION ?
-
- Back around the turn of the 17th CENTURY a mathematician and astronomer
- by the name of Galileo provided his definition on the Law of Averages,
- and it went something like this:
-
- "Whenever something can have more than one result, if all the
- possible results have an equal chance of occurring, the
- results that will be observed in a number of trials will
- generally vary to some extent from the inherent proportions,
- but the extent of this variation will become progressively
- less as the number of trials is increased."
-
- If we follow Galileo's advice, we will select specific NNNNNnumbers
- that are on a hot streak for short periods of time only, and in
- the long run look for numbers that have been drawn the least to
- catch up.
-
- EXAMPLES:
-
- After 117 drawings of the New York Cash40 there had been 351 odd
- and 351 even numbers drawn. In stretch of 81 drawings of the Iowa
- Lotto there were 243 odd and 243 even numbers drawn, but in the
- previous 21 drawings there were 56 odd and 70 even numbers drawn.
- The 'evens' must have had to do some catching up.

-
- a. The Rotation Speed sets a delay in how fast or slow the Prognositcator's
- will pick numbers. If you set the Rotation Speed to 1, the numbers will
- appear quickly. If you set it to 99, the numbers will slowly scroll. This
- feature is available solely for entertainment.
-
- b. Do you want random Prophet Opinions? If you select Y for YES, the
- Prognosticator will display different entertaining messages. If you select
- N for NO, the same opinion "THE VERY BEST PICKS FROM THE PROGNOSTICATOR",
- will appear every time.
-
- c. Messages are fun for printed cards, although the Prognosticator will
- run faster without them. Select Y if you want the various messages printed.
- Select N if you do not want messages printed.
-
- e. You can limit the amount of PRESET numbers for which the Prognosticator
- will use to give you picks. The Preset files are created when running the
- STATISTICAL REPORTS. They contain 18 of the best numbers for the related
- report. By limiting the amount of PRESET numbers, you will not alter the
- PRESET file in any way. If you limit the amount of PRESET numbers to 12,
- the Prognosticator will select from the first 12 numbers, NOT cut the last
- 6 numbers out of the PRESET file.
-
- f. You may select a specific amount of odd or even numbers. If you type
- in "Y", you will be asked the amount of odd numbers you want. Answering
- this question will, of course, determine the amount of even numbers to be
- picked. THIS WILL ONLY WORK BY FATE (#8 in the Prognosticator).
-
- NOTE: If you hit the <enter> key when answering any of the questions in
- the CFG section, the program is written to provide default values or answers
- to all of the questions. In other words, it's okay if you don't answer the

-
- PROGNOSTICATOR
-
- The Prognosticator will select numbers for you one game at a time using
- the randomizer that can be seeded using an algorithm based on a numeric
- conversion of the letters in your name. When Selecting #8, these numbers
- are based strictly on fate, using all the numbers available in the lottery,
- with no pseudo manipulation. They will be scrolled in random locations
- in the display screen.
-
-
- In the above description of the prognosticator's menu you will notice that
- the number selections can also be limited to the highest rated numbers
- in any of 7 different categories. The 7 categories just mentioned refer to
- the PRESET files created in the Super Statistical Reports Section. For
- more information on PRESET files, please re-read page 6 and refer to the
- chapter on Super Statistical Reports. No numbers outside of these
- pre-selected numbers will be picked.
-
- 1 = Hot numbers uses the 18 highest rated numbers in the Preset.U* file.
- 2 = Numbers looking to catch up (Overdue) numbers uses the 18 lowest rated
- numbers in the PRESET.U* file.
- 3 = Favorite number uses the 17 highest rated numbers in the PRESET.S*
- file plus the favorite number which you will be asked to enter.
- 4 = Power/Due numbers uses the 18 highest rated numbers in the
- PRESET.V* file.
- 5 = Numbers most likely, uses the 18 highest numbers rated in the
- PRESET.W* file.
- 6 = Numbers appearing in month of, uses the 18 most drawn numbers as
- listed in the PRESET.T* file. (In the above menu, NOVEMBER had been
- selected. If no PRESET.W* file had existed for this particular
- lottery the message NOT/AVAIL would appear instead of AUGUST)
- 7= Uses the 18 numbers in the PRESET.X** file. The PRESET.X** file is
- a combination of your own favorite 18 numbers. This file can be
- created in the Utility Section. Please refer to Page 47 for
- more informations on creating the PRESET.X* file.
-
- (C) Copyright 1987 - 1995 by DataMicro, Inc. Page 34
- All Rights Reserved Worldwide.
-
- NOTE:
- If any number is selected that requires a Preset file and none exists,
- the Prognosticator prompts you to create the file, and then proceeds to
- randomize by fate alone. To create the Preset file you must run the
- related Super Statistical Report. To create the PRESET.X** file, go to
- the Utility Menu and select "Create the PRESET X file"
-
-
-
- RUNNING THE PROGNOSTICATOR
-
- a. To request some games, position the cursor to the Prognosticator
- position on the Main Menu and hit 'ENTER'.
-
- b. Select the game you want to play 1 - 8. The Prognosticator will allow
- you to exit this section of the program by hitting the <esc> key or
- press the right mouse button.
-
- c. You are then asked to enter your name to provide a random seed for
- the randomizer, or you can just hit 'ENTER' and the Prognosticator provides
- the seed. Although a numeric derivative of your name would effect the
- output from the Prognosticator selections, even if you do not provide it,
- the numbers are still randomized.
-
- d. The next screen displays a list of the astrological signs with their
- related dates. You are asked to enter your sign to provide the seed in
- selecting a random opinion of the numbers. Again, you can just hit 'ENTER'
- without a sign selection.
-
- You do not have to provide your name or your sign for the program to run
- correctly.
-
- Prognosticator handles the single digit picks (3/4 picks 0 to 9 daily numbers)
- by selecting T for Pick 3 or F for Pick 4, or place the mouse cursor on the
- T or F and press the left mouse button. When selecting a Pick 3 or 4 the
- single digits are displayed in the order in which they were selected on the
- lower left side of the screen and are not sorted before they are printed on
- the Prophet Cards. ** Please note that Pick 3 and 4 games are by fate alone.
- You CANNOT store Pick 3 or 4 historical data in the File Control nor can
- you run Statistical Reports on Pick 3 & Pick 4. Separate Pick 3 and Pick 4
- programs are available. Please contact DataMicro, Inc. for information.
-
-
- Each time the Prognosticator is run the game is stored in a hold area which
- can hold 6 games. If the prognosticator is run more than 6 times only the
- last 6 are stored.
-
- These numbers will be made available to the Holdum/Checkum section to be
- placed into storage, if requested before the program ends the current
- session. The numbers are lost if not stored before the program returns to DOS.

- PROPHET CARDS:
-
- 1. After the numbers and opinion have been scrolled on the screen you are
- prompted to print them, <Y>es or <N>o.
-
- 2. If you answer <N>o, the LOTTO PROPHET provides you the opportunity
- to obtain more numbers for the same name and sign without requiring you
- to re-enter them.
-
- 3. If you answer <Y>es, the program has been designed to print the reports
- on continuous form 3 X 5 card stock called "Prophet Cards". It is also
- designed so that once the paper has been set to the top of the form, no
- further adjustment is required when changing between the reports that
- use the cards.
-
- 4. The information contained on the Prophet Cards is in a format suitable
- for selling or giving away. They contain complete information on the report
- (Example: the state, the opinion, the numbers, date prepared, and good luck
- messages, etc.).
-
- 5. The printed reports look much better if printed with a printer capable
- of wide print such as a dot matrix printer. The reports can be printed on
- standard paper but look much better on 3 X 5 cards. These cards are
- available in colors from most office supply stores.

-
- Since we used the ILLINOIS LOTTO to study the Super Statistical Reports,
- let's change over to a different lottery. Why not use TEXAS! I have found
- that our friends in Texas absolutely love to play lotto.
-
- I would first like to introduce our newest report, STATE OF THE LOTTERY.
- State Of The Lottery uses a specific number of drawings and does an in-depth
- analysis.
-
- The following is a sample report.

-
- Next are the 10 hottest numbers and below it are the 10 coldest numbers.
- We, then, display the most current drawing and its related information.

- for the numbers which have repeated the previous drawing.
-
- Below is a summary of numbers which have repeated:

- SKIP/HIT CHART -
-
- The Skip/Hit Chart is a very interesting report. It looks backward in time
- and shows how many drawings between hits.
-
- This report should be read from right to left. Let's look at the number 1.
- To the far right we see that the number 1 has not shown up for 16 drawings,
- then it hit, then it skipped 5 drawings, then it hit, then it skipped 3
- drawings, then it hit, then it skipped 10 drawings.
-
- Notice the number 18 below, I don't know about you, but I see a definite

-
- HOLDUM/CHECKUM -
-
-
- This section of the program is designed to, as it says, hold
- lottery numbers for the players and to check them against the
- numbers picked in the lottery drawing for winners. The LOTTO
- PROPHET not only holds 5/6 lotto picks but also handles DAILY
- 3/4 PICKS and KENO type 10 PICKS.
-
- The way the numbers are handled is decided by how large the
- largest number can be. (Example, if the largest number is 9,
- we must assume that the number selection is a single digit
- selection and that numbers may be duplicated within the
- selection). Above 9 numbers must be double digit with none
- duplicated.
-
- The Holdum/Checkum (hereafter referred to as H/C) can hold a
- total of 144 lottery selections broken down as follows:
-
- 3 Independent Lotteries
-
- 8 Players for each lottery
-
- 6 Scores for each player
-
- All 3 lottery slots could be used for the same lottery and have
- 24 players in it. If a player needed more than 6 picks, he would
- just use two or more player slots.
-
- a. Main H/C menu:
-
- 1. First to be displayed are the names of three state or
- other lotteries, or a 'not yet assigned' flag if the file
- has not yet been selected. Use your arrow keys or mouse
- to make a selection. If the desired lottery is not yet
- selected or to change a file to 'not yet assigned' status,
- select "Change, Assign or Delete a Lotto"
-

- All Rights Reserved Worldwide.
-
- C A U T I O N ! ! After selecting "Change, Assign or
- Delete a Lotto" and then selecting one of the first 3
- options, the message indicating to use the word
- 'Clear' to clear the record will appear. Using 'clear'
- removes all of the players and their scores from the
- selected lottery. Entering a name changes the
- lottery name but leaves the players and their scores as
- they were.
-
- 2. Two of the questions that are asked during lottery
- assignment is amount of numbers you will be selecting and
- the amount of numbers to be drawn. The reason for these
- two questions is that some states are now playing a Pick
- 10 Keno type game where the player picks up to ten
- numbers and the state draws 20 numbers from l to 80, etc.
-
- b. The Player menu:
-
- After selecting lottery that you want, a list of 8 player
- positions appears with the Player Menu below it asking:
-
- Assign a player to a number
- Delete a player and scores
- Check a player's scores
- Enter a players new picks
- Print all players and scores
- Return to Main
-
- You may use your arrow keys to make a selection or place the
- mouse cursor on your selection and press the left mouse button.
- As you can see they are mostly self explanatory. After making
- any of the first 4 selections, you are asked to select players
- #1 thru #8.
-
- 1. If you selected Assign, you are asked to enter the
- player's name in 15 characters or less. After entering
- the player's name the program returns to the Player menu.
-
- 2. If you select Delete, the player's name is replaced
- with the word UNASSIGNED and the player's associated
- scores are blanked. You are then returned to the
- Player's menu.
-
- 3. If you select Enter a player's new picks, a line of
- numbers (1 - 6) appears on the screen representing
- the 6 available slots for that player's picks. When
- storing a number you need not start at 1, but may store
- numbers in any available spot. You are asked to pick the
- location number or hit 'ESC' to return to the Main Menu
- Upon entering the line selection, a new message
- appears indicating how many numbers to select (Example:
- select 6 numbers from 1 to 40).
-
-
-
- (C) Copyright 1987 - 1995 by DataMicro, Inc. Page 43
- All Rights Reserved Worldwide.
-
- 4. If the Prognosticator had previously been asked to select
- any numbers for this lottery, the numbers appear and the
- input message indicates that you may enter numbers now or
- just enter 'P' to use the LOTTO PROPHET's numbers. Either
- way they are stored in the selected location on the disk
- with today's date associated with it until the number is
- erased. The program recycles after entering the number
- allowing you to enter additional scores for that player
- until you enter 'ESC' to return to Menu.
-
- 5. If you select Check a Player's Scores, a message
- appears on the right side of the screen indicating for
- you to enter the digits now, equaling the numbers
- selected by the lottery. (Example, in a PICK 3 the
- request is for 3 digits; in a PICK 6 the request is for
- 12 digits, since a 4 is entered as 04). After entering
- the scores the LOTTO PROPHET asks if you want a copy of
- the printed results <Y>es or <N>o. This can be used to
- provide a copy of the results to others when the LOTTO
- PROPHET is used for group play.
-
- The program asks which Player's Scores to check and
- displays all his scores. If the lottery is a PICK 4, the
- program compares the drawing with the stored selection
- for an exact match. If there is no match, the word 'ZIP'
- appears by it. If it matches, the words 'YOU WIN' appear.
-
-
- If the lottery is a PICK 3, you are asked if the player's
- numbers are boxed 6 ways. If you answer (Y)es, the
- program compares the 3 picks in any way they can be
- arranged against the 3 pick drawing. The same message as
- with the PICK 4 appears.
-
- If the lottery is a LOTTO 5 - 6 - 10 pick, etc., the
- numbers are compared the same as the PICK 4 but the
- message next to the number is '(number matching) out
- of (number picked)' (Example: 3 out of 6) indicating
- the number of matching numbers.
-
- After the program has completed comparing the first
- player's numbers, you receive the message 'Hit 'ESC' for
- Menu or 'ENTER' to continue to check the rest of the
- players assigned to that lottery.
-
- 6. If you select Print all players and scores, all 8
- player positions are printed two abreast on one page of
- paper. Again, this is used primarily to provide a copy of
- all scores when the program is used for group play.
-
- All in all the program works well for one person who just wants to
- manage his lottery numbers, but it is even better for a group of
- friends who like to pool their money to get a lot of numbers.
-
- The number of players that may be managed can be increased by
- loading another copy of the program to a sub-directory.

- BUILD OR ADD TO A NUMBER*.* FILE -
- As we learned in the beginning of the manual, a NUMBER file contains sets
- of games or tickets to play. Many lottery players have sets of their own
- games which they play every single week. This is where you could store
- these games.
-
- Another use for Build or Add to a NUMBER File would be if you had an
- existing NUMBER file and wanted to add some of your own picks to the NUMBER
- file.
-
- Below is an example on how to build or add to a NUMBER*.* file:
-
-
- ╔═══════════════════════════════════════════╗

-
-
- You are asked to enter the ID of the NUMBER*.* file ? Lotto Prophet
- will use the PROPHET file already configured in the SET Menu to identify
- the first part of the NUMBER*.* file to be created. (The example above
- makes note to PROPHET.32).
-
- The ID of the NUMBER file would be the file extension (the file's last
- name, remember?). For example, do you see the list of NUMBER files above?
- The very first one is NUMBER32.LIZ. The ID for this NUMBER file is LIZ.
-
-
- If you enter an ID that does not exist, you are asked if you want to
- create a new file. If you answer <Y>es, you are asked to enter the
- numbers with no spaces, no dashes, no slashes and a 0 in front of
- single digits. After you have entered 1 game, hit <enter>,
- the program will prompt you to enter the next set. To return to the

- APPEND ONE NUMBER*.* FILE TO ANOTHER -
-
- Appending one NUMBER File to another means that a copy of a particular NUMBER
- file will be added to another NUMBER file.

- This is especially useful when you are building multiple number files
- containing 2,000 or more games. This features can be used to
- store all of the games into one file.

- TURN COLOR ON or OFF -
- When you first receive your program, color will be turned off. To turn it
- on just click on TURN COLOR ON or using the arrow keys, select TURN COLOR
- ON and hit <enter>. Lotto Prophet can be set with color ON if you
- are using CGA, EGA or VGA.
-
- Lotto Prophet can be set with color OFF if you are monochrome.
- NOTE: IF YOU ARE USING HERCULES GRAPHICS YOU MUST TURN COLOR OFF!!.
-
-
-
- PASSWORD CONTROL -
-
- If you are not running under password control and want to start using using
- it, select Change Password Control from this menu. Password will
- initialize upon re-starting Lotto Prophet.
-
- The next time you start the program, you are asked to ENTER A NEW PASSWORD
- (6 characters). NOTE: THE PASSWORD MUST BE A TOTAL OF 6 CHARACTERS. You
- may use spaces as part of your password for it to total 6 characters.
-
- You are then asked if you want to run under password control. If you answer
- 'no', the program will not ask for the password during startup and the
- only one that can turn on the password control is the one who knows the
- original password.
-
- If you answer 'yes' to password control, you are prompted for a password or
- 'change' of password during normal program execution.
-
- If you answer that you wish to 'change' the password, the program prompts
- for the old password and then tells you to enter the new password, and asks
- if you want to continue with password control. Your options are (Y)es or (N)o.
-
- If you forget your password, type in TESTER.

-
- BUILD THE PRESET.X* FILE -
-
- The PRESET.X* feature was added to Lotto Prophet as a means for you to
- store your own favorite set of 18 numbers into a file and have the
- Prognosticator choose from them.
-
- If Lotto Prophet was SET for PROPHET.28 (Florida Lotto), then you
- would be creating the file called PRESET.X28.
-
- The program will ask you to "Enter number 1 = ___?" It is looking for
- the first number for the PRESET file. You may enter your most favorite
- number and hit <enter>.
-
- It will then prompt you to enter a 2nd number, and so on. You MUST enter
- 18 numbers.
-
- PRESET.X28 for the PROPHET.28 lottery
- Enter number 1 = ? 16
- Enter number 2 = ? 05
- Enter number 3 = ? 23
- Enter number 4 = ? 12
- Enter number 5 = ? 25 ...... and so on, until you reach 18 numbers.
-
-
- Now you can go to the Prognosticator and have it obtain picks based on the
- file you just built.
-
- BACK UP FILES - Lotto Prophet gives you the opportunity to backup
- your PROPHET and NUMBER files to a blank formatted disk in either drive A
- or drive B.
-
- ENTER DRIVE TO SEND THE BACKUP (A or B) ** Enter A or B
- P>rophet, N>umbers or A>ll ? ** Enter P to backup PROPHET files only.
- Enter N to backup NUMBER files only. Enter A to backup both PROPHET and
- NUMBER files.
-
- SET THE MOUSE SPEED -
- We set the speed of the mouse by increasing a delay in the movement and
- response of both the mouse and the keyboard.
-
- The mouse speed can be set from 300 to 3000. 3000 is the slowest speed
- because it is the size of the delay. The longer the delay, the slower the
- response.

-
- If you find that the keyboard is responding very slowly, then decrease the
- mouse speed. If your mouse is jumping or if the program is translating one
- mouse click as 2 mouse clicks, then increase the mouse speed.
-
- TEST THE SYSTEMS RANDOMIZER -
-
- The Randomizer test can perform a test of your computer's
- randomizing capability and give you a good visual report on how
- it did.
-
- After selecting to test the randomizer, you are asked to
- enter the range of the randomizing from 2 to 99. Next you are
- asked to 'Enter the amount of random numbers to test from 1 to 1
- million.' The progress of the selection is displayed in
- increments of 1000 to let you track the amount of numbers
- selected. At any time during the test you can quit, by hitting

- CHAPTER IX

- K E Y S
-
- DataMicro's Wheeling Algorithms
-
-
- Before we start learning about KEYS, let's talk a little on Wheeling
- systems in general, what they are, the Pros and Cons.
-
- Wheeling systems are a scientific method of using a set of well defined
- rules to accomplish some specific result. (Example: If we select all our
- numbers from within a certain group of say, 12 numbers, and we play 6
- games, we want to align them in such a way so that if 6 numbers drawn fall
- within our group of 12 numbers we want to get at least a 4 out of 6 hit.
- (WHEEL#.Z8)). Wheels do not decrease your normal odds of winning LOTTO.
- (6 out of 6)
-
- Well designed wheels actually increase your chance of cashing a winning
- ticket, in some cases 500% or more, over selecting the same amount of
- games played randomly. At the same time the same wheeling system
- decreases and in some cases eliminates your chance of getting any
- more than one 4 out of 6 or 5 out of 6 hit on any wheeling group.
-
- Generally random game selection lends itself to playing less games than
- the wheeling systems. So it's up to you to decide if wheeling systems
- are for you. When we speak of RANDOM GAMES in this situation we are
- talking of playing sets of numbers that have no relation, one set to
- another. We are not talking about the program randomizer.
-
- I personally believe that using selective wheeling systems, along with the
- information available in the LOTTO PROPHET to select the field numbers,
- is the very best way to end up winning some money in the lotteries.
-
- Approximately 70 wheeling algorithms are included with this program
- Besides the routines included, this program also has the ability to
- import other wheels using the information from any other wheeling system
- of up to 50 numbers and 1000 games. If you want to learn more about them,
- and to add more permanent wheels to this system, there are some excellent
- books on the market that include hundreds of wheeling systems and talk
- in depth on the routines.
-
-
- W H E E L I N G S Y S T E M S
-
- ARE DESIGNED TO KEEP UP YOUR CASH FLOW
- WHILE WAITING ON THE BIG HIT
-
- Definition of terms
-
- WHEELING SYSTEMS or WHEELS, are nothing more than disk files which contain
- the format of the WHEEL.
-
- FIELDS refer to the amount of individual numbers used by the WHEEL to fill
- out each game.
-
- (C) Copyright 1987 - 1995 by DataMicro, Inc. Page 51
- All Rights Reserved Worldwide.
- GAMES, SETS, COMBINATIONS or TICKETS are all interchangeable names, I
- played 1 game or I bought 1 ticket etc. It is the minimum level of
- investment in a lotto.
-
- KEYS, KEY NUMBER or PERMANENT NUMBER are all interchangeable names for one
- or more numbers that will appear in every single game. When using a KEY
- NUMBER, the KEY number must be one of the numbers drawn to be assured of
- a winning wheel.
-
- WHEELS in GENERAL -
-
- Each wheel is kept in an individual disk file by the name of WHEEL#.* .
- The WHEELS which came with your program all have a Z as the first letter
- in the extension. (Example: WHEEL#.Z1, WHEEL#.Z17)
-
- HOW DO WHEELS WORK? -
-
- The information below is NOT necessary to know before using our wheeling
- systems. Those of you who love math, keep reading. Those who don't can
- skip over to the "KEYS Main Menu".
-
- If you were to play Z8, which is a 6 game wheel that uses 12 different
- numbers of your choice, the wheel guarantees a minimum of a 3rd Prize,
- if the 6 numbers drawn all fall in the field of 12 numbers you selected.
- How does this work?
-
- Let's look at how that works. First, I display the numbers in WHEEL#.Z8
- file and label the number sets (masks) in the file for reference purposes.
-
- mask 1 mask 2 mask 3 mask 4 mask 5 mask 6
- 01 01 01 02 02 07
- 02 04 04 03 03 08
- 03 05 05 06 06 09
- 04 07 10 07 10 10
- 05 08 11 08 11 11
- 06 09 12 09 12 12
-
- Now let's assume you wanted to use your favorite 12 numbers,
- (Example: 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24, 26, 28, 30, 32, and 34).
-
- KEYS would align your 12 numbers into 6 games or sets
- as so. (Mark your cards with these games.)
- game 1 game 2 game 3 game 4 game 5 game 6
- 12 12 12 14 14 24
- 14 18 18 16 16 26
- 16 20 20 22 22 28
- 18 24 30 24 30 30
- 20 26 32 26 32 32
- 22 28 34 28 34 34
-
-
- (C) Copyright 1987 - 1995 by DataMicro, Inc. Page 52
- All Rights Reserved Worldwide.
- To further explain what we did, let's align the 3rd column
- together.
- 3rd wheel mask 3rd game
- 01 = 1st field number is 12
- 04 = 4th " 18
- 05 = 5th " 20
- 10 = 10th " 30
- 11 = 11th " 32
- 12 = 12th " 34
-
- Try to think of the numbers in a wheel mask as an address of the
- actual number you want to use in your game. In mask 3 above the
- last number 12 is the address if the 12th number in your field
- (Example: 34 is the 12th number in the field).
-
- You do not have to understand how these work to use the wheels but it should
- make it more enjoyable.

- Select Pure Wheels for <4>, <5>, <6>, <7>, <8>, <9> or <10> or <Q>uit>
-
- ** You may select from a Pick 4 to a Pick 10 wheel or hit 'Q' to
- quit.
-
- Let's say you selected <6>. You will be asked several questions.
-
-
- (C) Copyright 1987 - 1995 by DataMicro, Inc. Page 57
- All Rights Reserved Worldwide.
- ENTER THE AMOUNT OF FIELD NUMBERS FOR THE TRUE WHEEL
-
- ** If you would like every combination of 10 numbers, then enter the number
- 10.
-
- C A U T I O N : You may ask for every combination of a 6/49 lottery
- (1-49). This would produce almost 14 million combinations and print
- a stack of paper 10 or 20 feet high.
-
-
- DO YOU WANT STRAIGHT 1 THRU 10 Y>es or N>o
-
- ** If you do not want a straight 1 - 10, then answer N to this question.
-
-
- DO YOU WANT TO USE RANGE OF SUMS Y>es or N>o
-
- ** A range of sums is calculated by adding all of the numbers on one game.
- Entering a range of sums would limit the amount of games produced by
- the wheel, thus, the wheel is no longer a true wheel.
-
-
-
- DO YOU WANT TO V>iew, P>rint or D>isk file
-
-
-
- V> Hit V if you only want to view the results on screen.
- P> Hit P to Print the results on your printer.
- D> Hit D if you want to save the results to a NUMBER file. you will be
- asked to enter the ID extension for the number file. Remember that an
- extension cannot be more than 3 characters.
-
-
-
- DO YOU YOU WANT TO INPUT FROM A PRESET FILE Y>es or N>o ?
-
- ** Answer Y if you would like to use a PRESET file.
-
-
- ENTER PRESET FILE ID#
-
- ** Since we are working with PROPHET.18 (Mass Megabucks), let's use the HOT
- Numbers results for this wheel. The PRESET file ID# would be U18.
- U stands for Hot Numbers and 18 stands for PROPHET.18.
-
-
- ARE THESE CORRECT <Y>es or <N>o ?
-
-
- 30 04 06 01 40 34 07 05 35 26
-
-
- Since we requested 10 field numbers, the wheel grabbed the first 10 numbers
- from the PRESET.U18 file. If these numbers are correct, hit Y and <enter>.

- Below is a partial printout of the results. At the bottom right corner of
- this report you will see the number 210. This is the total number of games
- you would have to play to wheel 10 individual numbers and be guaranteed a 6
- out of 6 if the winning numbers drawn fall within you field of 10.

-
- BUILD OR EDIT A WHEEL FILE -
-
- Please do not use this portion of the program if you do not fully
- understand wheels.
-
- There can be a big misunderstanding about building wheels. The definition
- as we use it in this program means to import an existing wheeling system
- from a book and to load those number masks into this system. It does NOT
- mean that you give this program some information and the program will
- figure out a wheel based upon your data.
-
- To edit means to correct any mistakes you made in typing in the numbers.
- It does not mean that you can change the wheels that came with the program
- to suit your budget.

-
- ** A common Lotto Prophet tech support call: Hello, I would like to
- create a wheel that takes 23 field numbers, plays 10 games and gives me
- a 6 out of 6 guarantee. Answer: In your dreams. If you remember the
- example used in the Magnum Wheeler, we used a field of only 10 numbers.
- It produced 210 games. That is how many you have to play to guarantee a
- 6 out of 6. If you want a 6 out of 6 guarantee using 23 field numbers,
- then you must purchase 100,947 tickets. These examples are referring to a
- pick 6 lottery.
-
- When importing a wheel, the first question asked is to
- ENTER AN ID# FOR THE WHEEL.
-
- You are being asked for an extension, up to 3 characters.
- ** Your wheel cannot begin with a Z.
-
- The following questions follow:
-
- No file WHEEL#.* do you want to build one <Y>es or <N>o ?
- Enter the number of games or sets ?
- Enter the size of the field of numbers ?
- Enter the number of KEY or constant numbers each game ?
- Enter the amount of correct hits you want guaranteed ?
- Enter the amount that must fall in field to provide guarantee ?
-
- ENTER NUMBERS, no spaces, zeros in front of single digits
- 010322333641 etc. Type QUIT to exit to the KEYS Main menu.
-
- After you have entered the numbers, you are asked if you want to add
- the wheel to the list found in "Select from Available Wheels".
-
- If you make a mistake, continue on; you can recall the wheel later on and
- make your corrections. Do not add the wheel to the list more than once
- or it will appear multiple times. It will not hurt anything; it
- just looks ugly.
-
- Editing a Wheel File
-
- When requesting to 'Build or edit a wheel file' from the KEYS
- Main menu, you are asked to enter the extension for WHEEL#.*
- file. If the WHEEL#.* file exists, the components of the file
- are displayed for you to review, and edit if necessary.
-
- The following prompts appear in the example of using WHEEL#.XX2 file:
-
- ENTER EXTENSION FOR WHEEL# FILE ? XX2
- GAMES TO PLAY = 6
- FIELD OF NUMBERS = 12
- NUMBER OF KEY OR FIXED NUMBERS = 0
- GUARANTEED AMOUNT OF NUMBERS = 6
- AMOUNT OF NUMBERS THAT MUST FALL IN FIELD = 6
- IF YOU ARE GOING TO ADD OR DELETE GAMES MAKE CHANGES HERE, NOW !
- CHANGE AMOUNT OF GAMES OR HIT 'ENTER' FOR NO CHANGE ?
- CHANGE FIELD SIZE OR HIT 'ENTER' FOR NO CHANGE ?
- CHANGE AMOUNT OF NUMBERS DRAWN 'ENTER' FOR NO CHANGE ?
- CHANGE NUMBER OF KEY NUMBERS OR HIT 'ENTER' FOR NO CHANGE ?
- CHANGE AMOUNT OF NUMBERS GUARANTEED 'ENTER' FOR NO CHANGE ?

- 'A' TO ADD NEW RECORD BEFORE THE ONE SHOWN
